Hi guys
Ive just brought a vm rangie cost me 300 sheets mot no tax an old d plater, now looking on the site ive found a few remarks saying thay are unreliable??? is this ture???
If so wat you reconend i do?? sell it on quick or keep it?
Im new to 4x4ing never own a 4x4 bfor pls guys i need your help.

Yoshi:
Sell it on quick, its a lovely engine to drive but they were renowned for having head gasket issues.  On a D-reg would mean its a 2.4VM and they are the worst, options are:

If body and chassis are spot on then buy a discovery 200tdi engine and box and bang them in.

Sell it and pray someone else buys it

Use it til it dies, then break the motor for spares!

or the other school of thought is - if its made it this far its a good 'un!!

Guardian.:
they are not the best choice of engine, but if it goes o.k. for 300 quid just run it till it dies.

Sounds like a cheap years motoring to me...

Also... changing a head gasket on a diesel aint that big a chore is it... at least you only have one and not two to change!

Good luck and welcom to our world!
