I slept outside in the Alps at 11,000 feet once- fully clothed (inc coat) + two sleeping bags + feet in a rucksack! I just dug out the photo below taken at night looking across at Mont Blanc from Grandes Montets- awesome view!

In 99 three of us kipped outside the Hornli hut on the Matterhorn in bivi bags (save wieght) we where too skint to book a bunk  :oops:

0300 start to the summit but my APS camera froze  :evil: .
We got some good pics from my mates 35mm though.

I miss being fit  :roll:  :lol:  :lol:

If I tried to repeat some of the exploits from my 'younger days' I'm sure I'd expire now- and I'm not even fourty yet!

Still, looking back through my old slide photo collection brings back good memories. In fact if wasn't for the pictures I would probably forget I even did these things!

Going back to the original mist theme- I've just scanned in this slide photo of dawn mist during a Sea Trout fishing trip to the river Tywi (Towy) in Wales (1996).
