Hi all,

Got myself a 1990 Discovery and want to upgrade the headlamps to something with a bit more punch.

Have been looking at the kit from 4x4 bits, but want something a little different.

Am I right in thinking that if I remove the existing sqaure lamp, fit a headlamp bowl I can then fit a round 7" lamp.

Along the lines of

The head light wires in a 200TDi leave a lot to be desired.
Fitting more powerfull lamps can burn out the head light wireing.

It's far easier to fit a couple of decent spots, coupled to the main beam switch.

Fit a relay, heavier wireing from the battery via the relay to the spots,
and use the main beam circuit to act as a switch.

Far more light than from uprated headlights, and no extra load on the system.

 Pete.

You'd probably be better off re-wiring your existing headlamps straight off they battery using a relay to switch them operated from the existing cabling.

thats what i have fitted on my 200 disco mate    wouldnt go back now

fit a set of 300 series head lights, indicators, grill and surrounds.

i have a set if you want the grill has a slight crack on the corner of it, and one slat has shall amount of damage to it. one light could do with cleaning as lots of mud went inside it prior to removal
