V8 boxer manifold

mark.yellow.series.3:
that looks awsome, and thirsty

V8MoneyPit:
So....

Went to pick it up today (second time!) and it sounded fantastic! The boss at the garage decided he wanted a blast up the road...... I can honestly say I have never been that fast in a Land Rover before

As we drove back into the forecourt he said he could hear a small ticking. He'd get the mechanic to go round checking manifold bolts, etc.

When I opened the bonnet there was water everywhere  :( After much poking and proding, we restarted it and it's gone and blown a head gasket

So I came away without it ..... again! So the question is:
Do I go for the standard heads again or have a pair of stage 2 heads bolted on???

Xtremeteam:
STAGE 2

mmgemini:
I'm no longer a petrol man BUT
You must go for the stage two heads.

It makes my eyes water thinking about it.

V8MoneyPit:
So, Christmas is coming up.....

are you two going to chuck in £300 each and buy me a pair???

Well, worth a try!

Edit:
Sorry guys, I'm going to dissapoint you! Just spoken to the engine builder and he seems to think the modded heads will be wasted on a vehicle that really needs low end torque rather than mid range and top end power. So he has just saved me £200. I am going for some standard reconditioned heads instead. Of course, these will be an improvement to what's on at the moment anyway.

It has just been rolled into the workshop this morning for the work to start. Again   So frustrating in that they had it all down to the heads when they were doing the cam change. A few more bolts and they would be off. But now they have to do the whole thing again   Ho Hum!
