V8 boxer manifold

V8MoneyPit:
Result!

I spoke to the company that was involved in the original design of the 4x SU manifold last week with regard to advice in setting them up. When I rang them back, the boss wanted to speak to me   He is thinking of redeveloping the manifold, but the original drawings no longer exist. If I would loan him my car, he will take them off and take measurements to draw them up. Then he will bolt it all back together and tune the carbs for free  \:D/

It seems one of the carbs has to be set completely differently to the others because it feeds cylinder 5 and 7 sequentially, unlike any of the others. It's just a quirk of the firing order.

So, I have decided to go for a performance camshaft while he's in there!! And a set of brand new carbs at a hugely discounted price  :D All I pay for are the parts and the extra labour to swap the cam.

It certainly paid to ring them.

So, dumped the 110 with them this morning.

now thats a result!

bizarre about the firing order tho.

hingmy:
So a return of the boxer. Hmmmmmmm
Any idea of timescale?

And refresh my memory, which SU's work best on it?

Oh and good work chap.

V8MoneyPit:
It was designed around the HIF6 or HIF44. The 44 just being the later version of the 6.

I am hoping to stay in touch with developments. But I don't know much at the moment.
