Can I put one shot grease in the steering box?

<< < (2/4) > >>

Robbo:
so how regular do we fill/top these up then? Can you tell I'm new at this?) is it easy fill like the gearbox...ie fill until it overflows?

Devon-Rover:
Yeah just keep it topped up. check when you are doing the diffs and gearboxes.

BTW you'll need a 1/2 inch AF spanner to get it undone.

Robbo:
cheers Mate, I shall have a looksee next time its both light and not raining....booo

--- Quote from: "Spacemud" ---I read last night that you can put one shot grease in the steering box. Opened the box up of my new purchase last night and there looks to be nothing much in the way of lubrication in there at all. Does anyone have any preferences they can share?

I've asked the same question in AFL 3 years ago! (didnt realise it was that long ago!)

never got a straight yes/no answer there though ive also seen it mentioned elsewhere. On the 101 yahoo group i think.

Since i posted that thread in 2003 i havent yet rebuilt my steering box and it still has no significant amounts of oil in and hasnt broken! I have kept meaning to put some grease in it (hey - its got to be better than nothing!).. I dont recall ever putting any oil in either!

now ive seen that ive been meaning to do it for 3 years i shall push it up the list somewhat!
