Hi Clones and Kenlowes

Hi,
    I Have just had a Caravaning Holiday in the Highlands covering about 1500 miles 800 of which was towing the van. My Disco was getting a poor 19 mpg round town (swmbo driving the kids about etc) so I fitted the Hi Clones that up it to 22 mpg, just before going up to the Highlands I fitted a Kenlowe fan with the Van on I was getting 19.5 MPG and averaging 26 - 27 mpg with out, I just thought that I would let you know that Hi clones and Kenlowes do definately improve MPG, I'm now considering converting to SVO and perhaps a K+N filter, are there any other ways of improving the economy of my disco? :D

I have a Kenlowe fan on my disco. Works well. It has more go and reduced my fuel bill.

Getting an improvement of what nearly 40% from 19.5 to 26 mpg just by fitting a Kenlowe is truly amazing.

You'd have thought LR would consider doing it from the factory if they're that effective especially as I get 30-32 mpg from my 300 TDI with mixed driving. I could expect maybe 40+ mpg.

Not just a Kenlowe the Hi Clones as well, the only other change was the annual service so new filters, the hi clones on there own made a difference increasing power slightly and improving response, I To had doubt's but they have worked in my case, I well let you know what the MPG figures now we are home and swmbo is using the Disco in it's usual role. the Hi clones gave a 15% Increase and the Kenlowe afurther 22%,
