me grandad itchin 2put sum in but im stopping him, cuz if it goes T**** up i gotta fix it
danny

strangerover:
I know people who use Bio from a pump in a 300 Disco with no problems.

I thought all pre TD5 engines had a "old fashioned" diesel pump i.e. a mechanical pump that directs fuel to the engine ???
that were driven by the cambelt ........

this link may help on technical side of things...

remember that Pump Bio is made to ISO and is a world away from DIY Veg oil....

extreme90:
o what the hell, worst that can happen is it wont run

AbyssDJ:
the only thing that sways me is, if i put biodiesel in, when i need to use regular diesel at some point (inevitable - we can only put 20 quid in our tank at the mo :() then ill have to fart about with the filter again?

i doubt biodiesel pumps are easy to find in the first place, nevermind when you're about to run out in the middle of the night!!!!

just makes me question, is it worth it for a saving of a few pennies?

strangerover:
there is no problem using bio and normal,

The reason they say to change the filter is the first time you use it the Bio has a serious cleaning effect on the fuel system and all sorts of crud comes out.

After that its no problem, I use Bio most of the time as I have a garage just down the road, but when I'm out and about I just use what ever is at hand normaly Derv.

Using pump Bio in a 200TDi or 300TDi is fine, no problem at all and worth it ! better MPG, cleaner emissions amd quieter... oh and a nice burger van smell for the exhaust !

BTW as for worst that can happen... in the case of my company car £3500 of engine damage... not the engine its self all the fuel system ! but that will not happen to a "basic" land rover engine.
