why is it always a 4x4's fault

I'm occasionally guilty if the supermarket carpark is quiet - I tend to park far away too as people don't often use the spaces at the far end of the car park. I am known to bridge two of the (as above mentioned) small boxes because I'm tired of coming back to dings scrapes from doors or poor parking individuals who then decide to commit a "hit and run" because they don't want to own up.
I was once accosted by a man (when the huge car park had about 16 cars in it) who moaned about my use of two spaces - I politely pointed out that when he has moaned at all the people who can't park without using my bodywork I'll take his point onboard.
If there are genuinely not many spaces I'll park in only one though no point giving people reason to be upset. :D

--- Quote from: "Thrasher" ---Where we are at the moment we can't park near our chalet. It is actually *almost* quite embarassing, as the ONLY way for Bagheera to fit in the car park so other people can get in and out is to park him sideways in 2 bays :(

Bagheera is probably a similar length to my father's Merc, and my father sometimes has trouble getting it in a parking space and has had to park just like you had there by parking sideways and taking up two bays. :(

As we have also found. Come to a newish car park, park in the normal way a car does between the lines and have the nose of the car right up to the end of the space. Get out, walk past the car and see it's sticking out of the car park space and into the route for cars to go along around the car park. It's almost as if the car parks are designed for nothing more than a Nissan Micra these days. :x

:) have you noticed though if you park in the middle of three spots people don't like parking next to you it's as though they are scared?? or is it just me??
Thrasher:
Annoyingly yes - with Piglet - which I don't care if they bash :(

I must be lucky as I seem to be able to get into most of our local car parks in the Disco with one depressing exception. The Redditch multi story car parks have bays of 3 spaces with pillars inbetween the 3 bays. This makes it vary difficult to park as I always seem to either have to fold in the passenger mirror or climb over to get out the passenger side.
Yes and there's always a bit of it sticking out too.
