Well, Challengers off to the body shop again this Monday.
For those that dont know Phoenixmad backed into it at Billing (Accidents happen, Thank the lord for insurance)
Picture of crash and Picture of damage
I've been promised a like for like Courtesy car.
I have told the insurance company i require a Land Rover (and nothing else) with a tow bar.
They have agreed but have'nt told me whats coming.
What do you reckon i'll get?
I'm holding out for a Range Rover or Discovery 3 but i reckon it'll be a 110.
I'll find out Monday.
The people that guess right will win a complete sense of satisfaction.
Post what you voted for please.

I'd have voted for the K plate Ford Fester diesel with no working door locks, a hole where the radio goes, and a clutch that works best out of three.

Itll be one of 2 things, the most likely is a freelander - if its from LR assistance then itll be a ford, either fiesta or mondeo as LR is part of the ford group and thats what they use.

If however you drove a Jag and called Jag assistance then you'd get a jag not a ford.....system sucks!

Hope it's better than my recent experience!

A couple of weeks ago the 110 TD5 that I use through work went into
Ashcrofts for a new 5th gear and they offered me an L reg Cavalier in white with no central locking, banger racing battle scars and an interior resembling a skip!

They felt my sense of humour fail.

oh Jake old chap you would park in the less classy end of the m-c pitch at Bling. See if you'd parked behind mine i'd a made a proper job with the NATO hitch. Still thats what karma gives you for taunting people with that pulse dvd all weekend ;)

BTW - non franchised garage - anything cheap they've to hand,
franchise - elderley clapped out freelander or a fiestaery type thing.

I once got offered a Fiat Chincechento (sp) as a courtesy car - needless to say I declined whilst laughing as saying 'you have to be kidding I'm 6 foot!'

I phoned the insurers and said I'm not using their recommended garage's courtesy car I'll hire one and they can pay - to which they grudgingly agreed.

The irony is all of the car rental places nearby were almost out of cars due to a busy week and all they could offer was ---- a ford Ka

Just wasn't my day

It will be a Freelander - you don't even get a Range Rover when you OWN one as a courtesy car! (i.e. they don't carry them as courtesy - and who could blame them!)

Secondly.....they don't tend to fit courtesy cars with tow bars .... so I'll be surprised if you get one of them too......

However, you could be really really unlucky and get a D3 ....

...and while I remember! Adrian Flux would not insure a D3 as a courtesy car for Piglet....claim was "courtesy car worth too much". So ... um.... depending on your insurance company, they won't push out a 60-70k car when you're insured loss is the value of Challenger.....

When Autowindscreens messed up the installation of a new windscreen, they also wrecked the headlining.
Fair play they fitted a heated screen and payed for Guy Salmon Landrover to replace the lining,
Didn't think i could make a fuss about the Fiesta

The insurance company is hiring a Land Rover for me.
Its not coming from the body shop.
I have told them that i work on a farm at weekends and tow a double horse box around the farm.
A friend of mine did the same when his Disco commercial got side swiped and they brought him a Freelander.
He refused it.
They brought him a Mitsubishi L200.
He refused it.
He settled on a 110 they had to cross hire from another firm.

They have'nt mentioned costs to me.
I guess it'll be around £1500 to £2000's worth of work.
They are going to replace the rear quarter panel and repaint the whole near side to get the colour match.
Never mind matey.

Its arrived!!
I have a Freelander Td4 5 door auto to play with.
Only one problem...its has no tow bar.
We have spoken to the rental comany and they have offered us a replacment car with a tow bar which they are going to to deliver in a couple of days.
For the inconvenience for not having the correct car in stock they are going to upgrade the modl to the next one up.
According to the delivery driver that'll be a Range Rover.
We'll see on Wednesday
well done to all of those that guessed correctly.
