BMW Drivers?!?!?!

Thrasher:
I find that matching the speed of the car I was passing if they are doing the legal posted limit works quite well. More persistant falsher get the same result as you Mike (i.e. I will pull in) - although driving RIGHT up my rear end and beeping and flashing will sometimes warrant left foot braking...... <evil grin> I love automatics.....

Of course if I am in a silly mode and being a 4 year old - I will left foot brake, watch him/her drop back and then slam it into Sport mode accelerate for about 7 seconds and wonder where the annoying gnat on my tail has gone......until he catches me up as I am tootling in the inside lane at said posted limit.....

At which point I smile and wave, or if in <age mode = silly> blow them a kiss :-)

Actually I was waiting for minutes on end to pull out into an endless stream of moving traffic in the 101 the other day, and it was a black X5 who waved me out.  So they're not all morons after all!

Had that happen with a motorbike a couple of weeks ago. I was sat at red lights on the outside lane. Large van on the inside lane so, no issues with beating it away and pulling over. This bike pulls up behind me. The lights changed and I pulled away at a reasonable pace. As soon as I was far enough ahead of the van I went to signal and move over only to see the bike starting to charge up the inside! I felt the safest thing was to keep my speed and stay in the middle until he'd sorted himself out. He dropped in behind, then came up the outside giving me serious abuse   I'm afraid I failed myself and gave him abuse back. Not an act I normally lower myself to.

And the bike wasn't even a BMW!!!

I have to say, one of the worst people I have ever been in a car with is my father-in-law. And, yes, he drives an X5   He has zero tolerance with every other road user. If someone is 2 milliseconds slower than he thinks they should be away from a junction he is shouting and waving arms at them! I normally go out of my way to avoid being a passenger with him!

I fell into that age-bracket with someone in a 106 on big wheels (& loud stereo) yesterday
He'd been following closely during the 30MPH & at one point on the way home it opens into 2-lanes at traffic-lights (& stays at 2-lanes for about 200yards, till a railway bridge) & he sharply pulled alongside at the last second.

I doubt he'll look at Landies in the same light again, as it's certainly the fastest I've accelerated in a diesel Landie
His passenger (a very attractive brunette) was laughing as we drew alongside at the next set of lights, where the routes diverge.

She even smiled & waved, as he looked straight ahead

Had to laugh to myself, the other night I left Manchester around 7pm pulled onto the M60 near Stockport saw this suited and booted high flying city type, his flash BMW broken down in the fast lane, he didn't even have the hazards on.He was too busy arms a waving and shouting down his mobile phone probably at some poor person at the broken down BMW dept. The best thing was that about 2 minutes down the road heading his way was the mother of rain storms
