stay away from weston uniom, there all crooks. its the only reason all the ebay scams are payed, for with weston union.

we have had our own horror stories, they was phoning up saying there sending the bayliffs round, even though we dont owe then anyt money.

THURSDAY 6th.
I wanted to purchase some Xtremely loud air horns, so sent money by western union.... The following day air horn company contact me asking "Whats going on? The cash has already been withdrawn over there in the UK!"
FRIDAY 7th
I phoned western union to find out what had happened & they asked me x3 times "Are you sure you did not call shortly after original tranfer to change any details?" I said "No... this is my 1st call (not inc original transfer call)".
They put me on hold for 10mins.... then came back and said "There has been a security issue and we could not carry out the transaction".
I was then told "You will have a full refund to your bank within 24hrs".
MONDAY 10th
I was told "You'll get a cheque... it will arrive upto 10 days after 6th July".
WEDNESDAY 19th
I was told "Cash was instantly refunded to your bank on 6th July... But it wont actually show in your account until 24th July".

I asked them to send an instant transfer to my bank or nearest western union agent, but they refused.

call them and mention small claims court then fill in the on line forms and get them sent off -they should get there copy of your cliam in next 7 - 14 days that normaly puts the wind up them

Hmmm... yet another story of WU dragging their heals. We refuse to take it. The only time we have accepted payment by this method it took about 6 weeks to arrive. Needless to say, we didn't send the goods until payment was cleared.

BACS is generally about 3 days, even allowing for currency conversion. the banks get a couple of days use of the money and we are happy because it's not too long.

Incidentally, if the banks didn't hang on the the money, all accounts would have charges applied to them. At present it is generally only businesses who get charged for transactions.
