Western union have so far given me a different excuse each time ive phoned.
1st excuse.... dont worry sir, money will be refunded to your bank within 24hrs.
2nd excuse... who told you that? No way do we give instant refunds, our head office in london will send you a cheque in 10 days.
3rd excuse... money was instantly refunded on 6th July, BUT it will not reach your account until 24th july at the earliest :shock:

Ive just sent them an email stating i will be charging interest of £35 per day until money is refunded (can i legally do this???).

 they can transfer the cash via BACS or CHAPS........ So why are they messing me around :?:  :?:

They are messing you around because the longer it stays in their banks the longer they are gaining interest on it, they tend to use high interest accounts for the money.  They will leave it til the last possible legal moment before refunding the money to you.

After all... they were supposed to send my cash to America...    but instead they kept it and now i cant get it back.

I dont think you can, not until they have no legal right to your money (which is after any period set out by the regulating authority and/or british law).  I wouldnt hold out much hope as they are american and lets face it there is no regulation out there for anything.

Trug - whats the background, what did you purchase and who from.

As for the interest, Yes you legally can charge them interest, but not at £35 a day i'm afraid, and also if you are having trouble getting your money the chances of getting any interest paid are almost zero.
