Top Speeds?
thermidorthelobster:
The 101 will do over 60mph downhill with a tail wind. More realistically you can get 58 out of it on the flat or cruise at 55.
I found driving through Western Sahara with a strong headwind I was getting about 45mph tops, and it knocked about 30% off the fuel economy!
Devon-Rover:
I have wound mine up to 65 on the GPS. but it doesn't do the economy any good. 17ish, odd at a guess. Dropping back to 50 - 55 allows me to coax 22 MPG out of the old girl. I don't know what the speedo says as i haven't put the new cable on yet.
Vikki:
mine does 45 down hill with the wind behind me (and the police!) [-o<

--- Quote from: "James.Harwood" ---Most confirmed that i have had is 77 (on gps). that was about 3800rpm, engine only revs to 4500rpm.

To my knowledge the 2.25 Petrol redlines at 4,250 and has max power output at 4,000 while the 2.25 Diesel redlines at 4,000 and has max power further down the rev range. (don't know the rpms for the 2.25 diesel's max power)
Paul.K/LuckyTrucker:
Hi there, I have to ask, why do you guys seem obsessed by speed. If you have a Series LR with a 4 pot engine you have to accept it will be slow unless you have no mechanical sympathy whatsoever.
If I wanted to go fast I would have a Porsche Cayene but then that is so different from driving a LR and such a dissappointment compared to a LR.
Am I a bit strange :?
