Hiya, just thought i'd see what kinda speeds you guys were getting from your series? I own a Series 2a 2.25 and have had 74 out of it :D but not for long. Anyways, just wondering. cheers

sounds about the same as the s3 safari 109 we had when i was younger :) that was usually happy to cruise at about 60 in overdrive

Someone I know had hit 85mph once, and only briefly on a long downhill road with his foot planted to the floor.  I think if you go much quicker you'll soon hear the valves bouncing and hitting the pistons.  :shock:

I've done 70 in my 2.25 diesel. In overdrive with 16 inch rims.  She'll happily cruise at 60 - 65 on the motorway, with throttle to go.  But when the bonnet shakes and the gearbox whinnes I slow down!

mine used to happily run at 55 with my foot flat to the floor
didnt sound strained or owt.
i guess with an OD i could have got 65.

but once i get the new engine in, mwahahahahahaa, who knows!
