James.Harwood:
Not wanting to be boring but the 88" is about 1.3 ton and the 109" is about 1.75 ton. The lightweight was badly named as it was only very slightly lighter than the standard 88"
dew1911:
Wasn't the LWT actually Slightly Heavier until you removed the panels? Just what I seem to have read.
Rich_P:
The lightweight was heavier than the standard 88 when you have the full bodywork on. It only became 'lightweight' when you removed all the bodywork apart from the essentials. So off came the top of the bulkhead (with the vents), ragtop off and tilt off, other panels bits off (including the doors I think) and many other parts removed.
EDIT: Just looked in the Lightweight User Manual I have, and the Lightweight is listed as 1,456kg (12v) and 1,510kg (24v) when running with coolant, oils and 20 gallons of fuel.
It is also listed as 1,206kg (12v) and 1,274kg (24v) when stripped for air-portable use (with spare wheel removed) and with 5 gallons of fuel.
