Anti offroad picture in Whitworth, Lancs

Off-Roading is done on privately owned sites.
Greenlaning is the legal use of (largely) unsurfaced public highways; as long as one is licenced, taxed, MOT'd and insured, there is NOTHING illegal about their use!!!

I have a very friendly Traffic Cop living next door and he has just had a look at the poster via my computer and says that West Yorkshire Police have nothing to do with any policing in that area and that he will mention the unauthorised use of WYP emblem to one of his superiors in the morning!.

I just did a web search for the mysterious "South Pennine Off-Roading Vehicle Initiative"- a very auspicious sounding organisation......that doesn't seem to actually exist!

that poster is biast,wrong and I find it personaly offensive.
the implication is that all offroad driving is illegal.
No where are they making any distinction between legal offroad driving e.g. use of green lane networks etc.
Again its all offroad drivers being tared with the same brush.
I can only see this increasing after recent events such as those in the isle of wight ( http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=16568&highlight=isle+wight )
but this poster has many groups endorsing the fact that they feel all 4x4 drivers who go offroad are breaking the law who know better.
Whats all this about "Should the police beleve you have caused a public nuisance you maybe arrested" :?: So all it takes is for a group of legal sensible drivers to come across a group of anti's out on a lane and then a couple of there group get on there mobiles and claim that theres a bunch of nutters driving like idiots harassing the inocent bobble hatters and we get carted off.

Its not helping usI know but I think if I saw this kind of bull posted anywhere I would remove it and bin it.
this kind of institutionalised anti 4x4 behaviour is totaly unexceptable from any group.

Odd thing to me is that a poster "produced by West Yorkshire Police" has been posted up in Lancashire although the Lancs constabulary is there. Most worrying thing is that its probably been posted less than an mile away from Black Cowm quarry the ssite of the pay and play Whitworth Quarry. Theres a pay and play day up there on sunday I'll see if I cant find one of these posters as I think I have seen them as I've passed down this road and take it to the guys that run the quarry site. bet they have had Antis up there complaining so probably know who is behind it.
