Anti offroad picture in Whitworth, Lancs

Ahh, unless its done with the land owners permission - it is illegal.
Lets try and break the cycle and consider the difference between green laning and 'off-roading'. The terms are mutually exclusive in the real and legal sense.
Off-roading inherently is undertaken off-road. Not 'off-tarmac', or 'off-pavement', but off-road This means away from the vehicular right of way. RUPPs, BOATs etc are roads, so green laning cannot be off-road (which is why you need to be road legal to go laning).
The poster is quite clever in the fact that it does steer away from commenting on laning, only on off-roading, which as it says, is illegal. Where they goof is when they fail to mention the bit about 'landowners permission', which pretty much gives you the right to drive anywhere.
In many respects we should be supporting the poster and saying 'yes, prosecute illegal motorists, they spoil it for the rest of us'.
Now that would T.O. the poster maker! :lol:

This poster is the same one which is at the top of rooley moor rd rochdale, at the start of a Lane/Track which eventually goes over to Bacup,and comes out at Alf Kymes scrap yard, This is NOT a Green Lane Nor BOAT, and it Is being churned up by motorcyclists and Drivers of 4x4 using it, as to if it is known that it has been put there by all whos logos are on it, I do not know, what I am aware of is that once again through local bridleway groups and Local farmers they are being asked to report any motorised vehicle being seen up there. Be careful, they will wave and smile, and report you as soon as they can. Once again giving the antis ammunition, it does not help though that if you look on a Ato Z for the rochdale area this lane is clearly maked on it. Only recently have these posters been put up.
