Anti offroad picture in Whitworth, Lancs
floyd fan:
Pictures defenatly doctored, even the shadows are in the same place.
Wanderer:
Maybe it's me.
Other than the photos possibly (note possibly) being doctored there's nothing factually incorrect.
It quotes the law. Off Roading is illegal without the landowners permission. The Road Traffic Act makes it illegal as stated on the poster to drive on anything other than a road or land with recognised vehicular access.
A
BOAT is a road so you're not off roading.
Now it might be playing on other people's ignorance when they don't realise that Green laning isn't off roading.

ninety:
The pictures, in my opinion (and I have seen the original print) are doctored. Seems that the top picture was taken, then several seconds later, another picture was taken in the same position.
UPPER picture is the one that I think is doctored. It looks like the tracks have been airbrushed over. The tracks, if you look, are up to the piles of rubble/rock that you see.
The fact that the first paragraph implies that off-roading is the illegal driving /riding of offroad vehicles on bridleways etc. It makes the association that all who drive offroad are law-breakers. I appreciate that some act irresponsibly, but that particular wording is misleading.
Priglet:
I'm with Wanderer on this. It seems to me to be factually correct - but misleading and not stating all the facts - like where vehicles are allowed.
Be honest if you were driving along a BOAT and saw vehicles cutting across open moorland would it annoy you?
ninety:
Yes, it would annoy me if I saw people being irresponsible. I don;t do it myself, and it's not fair. The poster just annoyed me in that it's factually correct, but very misleading. I doubt the average Joe Public would read it and completely understand it.
