--- Quote from: "Evilgoat" ---Sciatica, caused by a trapped nerve usualy.

Take Co-Codamold and ibruprofen together, after about 3 doses it will start to ease off. Ibruprofen is an anti-inflamatory and it will help but only after the levels build up in your bloodstream.

Co_Codamol might make you a bit dopey though so might be best to stick to Ibruprofen if you're driving.

Been there, and I feel your pain :)

try cuprofen they are good and dont make you drozy i use them all the time when i am driving. And yes i know what your going through i have bad back pain as well. But with me its my cartlige between my 4-5 vertbre thats gone. also try a heat blanket across your lower back that can help as well.

Karen696:
Top tip, take the paracetamol based pain killer, wait two hours take the asprin based one (eg ibuprofen) two hours later, and so on.

A doctor told me this one when I was really suffering with a trapped nerve in my shoulder.

The pain relief never completely wears off as you take the doses alternatively and never get to that point where they are both wearing off at the same time.  Its also supposed to be kinder to your stomach.

Get yourself to a back specialist I've had ciatica since I was 16 after a snowboarding accidentGP wrongly dignosed me for 2 years and I am stuck with a calcified disc now that wont go back in. Ciropractors can generally get them back in pretty quickly with a bit of manipulation. If your really stuck with the series in Manchester I might be able to help with some tempary storage until your fit enough to collect it.
