Funny you should mention the trapped nerve in the shoulder. I got it for the 5th time in my life last thursday after driving an LDV van at work. I got it twice when I was a kid and it was so bad then I couldnt move any part of my body as it sent a spasam completely through my body. I had to lie in bed for 5 days until it released. It is sodding painful and I have found just massaging the neck works and also as you say ibuprofen and paracetamol but I take 2 tablets of each at the same time. Seems to work. Just a pain to drive with as you cant turn your neck.
