Nut Splitters
Damonski:
Hiya,
Ive been tryiing my big breaking bar on them :) Just got one to start to budge. Think Ill pop out tomorrow to our local hardware shop and get some new blades for the hacksaw, I should be able to cut the bolt heads off.
Damn Wednesday and here we have that half day closing, the whole village goes to flippin sleep for the afternoon
TimM:
What are you going to do with the steps when they are removed?
I'm after a left step, I bend it so much that I had to remove it (I gave up with the socket set and ground the bolts off with my angle grinder), is there any chance that spares may be up for grabs here?
And before anyone tells me I'm better off without them.... I know, but with the extra 4" of height it does make it a lot easier to get in on the side with a step!
Damonski:
The drivers side one is rusted and is as flimsy as a paper step. The passenger side is perfect. Will take some pics to see if its the same as you want, they are off my 5 door disco.

That's the one I'd be after if your willing to sell
Mine are the standard fit LR parts (all black with rubberised tread plate and a rubber strip around the outside edge).
hobbit:
Try using a hexagonal socket instead of a 12 sided one, better gripm if you can while you are leaning on the bar with one hand/shoulder, whacl the other end or somewhere youcan get to with a decent sized hammer the jolt might just crack it off
