Nut Splitters
Damonski:
Yo,
I need to remove my sidesteps, and despite several overnight application of WD40 and wirebrushing the threads on the 8x bolts I cant get them to budge, think they have been on since the beginning of time.
I havent got access to a grinder or cutting disc to get the bolt heads off, Im wondering if anyone has any experience of nut splitters and if they would do the job?
For the moment Im leaving the hangers from the chassis in place, its just the steps I need to remove.
Cheers

nut splitters usually work very well and are not expensive either. If you are working under the car there tho, dont forget the eye shields cos they can slip off easily too under the pressure....

You could buy a cheap one for about £5 or so, budget for £10 and you should get some change - it won't be a De Walt one for that money, but for occasional use it would be fine.
woody:
if they are only M8 nuts and bolts try an impact socket and a large bar this should snap them off
