Not too bothered about fuel consumption - I don't do a high mileage and already have a V8 rangie so know what to expect
Will pick it up just after the new year with a fresh mot and full service
Here's a picture of it just now - will post some more when I get it home

Looks nice. They werea rather archaic engine by the time that one was made though. Watch the bottom end as the bearing shells are smaller than on a 2.25. They do seem to be one of those engines thats either dire, or runs like clockwork until the end of the world.

Thanks for all your comments - general opinion seems to be that the engines are good if they have been looked after
I haven't even seen the Landy in the flesh yet - my mate was in Kettering and found it for me - he knows his Landies and says it is a good one and I trust his judgement
I will pay particular attention to the engine when I go down to hand over the beer tokens
Will let you all know how I get on and no doubt will be busy posting questions after the new year when I get it home !
