That's known as a 'Yorkshire Wave'.
It takes little expenditure of energy, is understated (we're not given to exhibitionism) & says a lot by saying a little.

i allways wave at landys,disco and classic range rovers the newer ones p38 up never wave proberly scared to take their hands off the steering wheel incase something brakes :lol: :lol: :lol:

My little sisters boyfriend's just bought a RR Sport. It's the first Landy he's ever owned, so I've been trying to instruct him in the ways of the "Landrover owner". So there should be at least one RR Sport waving like F...... in South Yorkshire.

It's simply the merest lift of an index finger off the steering wheel, maybe half-an-inch. If they really want to acknowledge you, they'll nod their head :wink:
