I have replaced the fuel filter put new glow plugs in checked all the hoses and the turbo is fine. :?  :? ..And know its stopped on me again as if the fuels not getting there??? It would only do 50 mph on the way home and every time I went near a hill slowed right up the picked up as if nothing was up then at the junction stopped dead :x  :x ...I started the disco and put my foot to the floor and it didn't rev over 4 grand..if it was a petrol I would of said not sparking or not enough fuel but diesels I have no idea,,,HELP???????

Sounds normal for my Mpi.  Are you sure you dont have a mpi engine under there

Seriously tho, I think it could be the lift pump. I seem to recall other posts on other forums with similar symptons and everyone shouting about the lift pump.

iianorthants:
sound like what was happening with my defender when lift pump went.
to test on defender just need to carefully undo fuel filter and see if full to the brim ..... not full good chance of lift pump leaking, but not sure if the same on the disco

petergalileo:
Small air leak in the fuel supply would cause this too.  I dont reckon its anything major on the engine though as being a diesel and you havent said anything about large amounts of smoke which is normally a dead give away.
