When it is hot, do you find that it cools back to the 1/3 if you let it tick over or does it stay hot?

I have a 300 tdi and if after its up to temp you leave it

ticking over the temp gauge falls all the way to the bottom

and the heater starts blowing luke warm air...ie gets colder

so looks like they ALL DO THAT

Another saving, at this rate I will be able to afford a disco 3 in about 15 yrs
