Any interest in a 4x4 European holiday?

<< < (2/9) > >>

Bulli:
I was discussing a Norway trip last year . Great as wild comping is legal and the temperatures arent too bad. Fuel also costs less than here(no surprise) and general living expenses are ok. Crime is also no problem in Scandinavia.
Tromso is just over 1000 miles from Bergen so not too far, as Chamonix is about 550.Definatly looking at a fortnight .
Anyone mention kids? I understand some people dont want them around as they can be a pain but I would need to take mine.

Well, I've got 3 (6, 4 & 2 yr old) - and if I go, they go   Possibly the wife too

Norway / arctic circle sounds like an interesting option - what's the weather & temp like during August?

If it's the main 2 week holiday rather than a long weekend type, then I would want a mixture of driving (off road?) and site seeing, etc. Our 2 week holiday to the Alps this year was good, but moving/driving most days was a bit hard with the kids!

As an alternative and/or a long weekend - I have seen/read about an off-road place in France which includes driving in caves! Does that ring any bells with anyone?

Ah yes, this is what I had seen before http://www.mudplug.co.uk/5pillarsweekends.html  :)

Bob696:
we have been looking at options.

Battlefield tour of northern france
Alps
French 'RAID' with BOAR
North sea curcuit (Norway>sweden>denmark>holland>belgium>france)
Morocco
Northern spain (cider country :!:  and mountains)
even toyed with the idea of Russia (deasil is aparently under 15p a litre, pity we would be going in the V8)

We are tied to the main school holidays due to work.
