Sorry, but I'm with Mike and David on this one.
Whilst he was a great footy player and famous, and he did suffer from some of kind of problem which lead him to the bottle, he was given a second chance, ahead of some other equally deserving soul, and he blew it.
Respect for what he achieved (the good bits), but very little sympathy for the outcome.

My sentiments exactly. Someone without a self-induced condition should have been given that liver. IMHO he only received it because of who he was/used to be.
And lets be realistic about this, the myth long ago outgrew the man. Lets face it - 11 years of 'proper' football 9 of playing for the second- rate teams that would put up with him. Followed by 22 years of living on the reputation of past glories.
Nothing against the bloke, but I'm sick of hearing about it.
