Anyone been to one of these  :?:

Got a leaflet through the post today and they look like fun events.

There are various dates throughout the year with different venues so may try and get to one, kids will love it as well  :D

Went to a Truck feast a few years ago, down south somewhere, there good fun if you enjoy big trucks.

Yes they are quite good, (or used to be its been about 6 years since I last went), Peterborough is the biggest of the events, Lots to see though in one day.

Being in haulage I'm probably more into it, but if you like custom & good looking vehicles, well worth a visit. Trouble is the arena shows take up so much time you have to decide what to see if you want to cover all or it.

Generally a good little event in Wakefields Thornes Park, unfortunately its' on the 'Billing Friday'
Lots of restored stuff, even a Leyland Martian in attendance usually

Truck Fest (South West) is normally at the Royal Bath & West showground, Shepton Mallet.

Used to go there a lot in my yoof...   great fun if you like big shiny, chrome covered trucks... as you say, the airbrush work on some of them is superb.

Being in the driving trade I went several times during the late 80's early 90's. It was a really good day out even back then.
It was around the time that Steve Murty had Pro-Jet blowing tranny bread vans over and did wheelies with that big old yellow thing.
They even had a local version at Norwich in 1989 or '90.
Happy days.

You mean the Land-Train wheelie truck?, or as he called it 'Sky-Train'
Was the jet-truck the Ford Cargo at that time?

I used to see these at Doncaster Custom Show, when it was proper motors, not tarted-up Novas & Saxos

That's the one mate, lpg squirted from the exhausts to make them flare. That's just before driving took a downturn with those poxy speed limiters.
Yeah Pro-jet was the Cargo with a EE Lightning engine aboard. Can't remember the proper name, wasn't an Avon was it?

You're spot on Deano, the English Electric Lightning was powered by the Rolls-Royce Avon turbo-jet.
Lots of varients though.

hay wat a show to go to   lots to do and if you camp there  (at peterbro show ) from saterday you get a discount at the trade stalls  and the rides for the kid ive been there for last 15yrs    sad aint i  but the mrs likes to go !!! its a good week end for £70 plus ur spends that is ....sam

70 quid! Makes the LRO Show seem cheap at 60 quid for this year :!:
Billing is still the best deal for camping, at £115 to camp from Monday to Monday with electric you just can't go wrong.
