having just got the new landrover s1 for tic-tac and me has any anyone else got one yet? and have you had any problems with it?

the first two i got one wouldn't charge up and the other one squealed when you made a call? good news is the shop exchanged them straight away so all is good now. and we like's um!

wot do you thinks about um then? :-k

ALSO only available on orange net work and I spoke with orange and they say that they wont be offering them on any contracts at all they only available through third party company's and for a limited time only. wot's that all about?

Got admit does have a couple of niggly problems

People are telling me that when they ring me the speaker is very echo`y and I find the bluetooth can be a right pain to connect with others

And how annoying is it not to be able to send mms on it... cant see the point in the camera without that option IMHO..

but like everything else landrover it was made to be broken !

I've had one for over a month ;-)

Not a bad phone and can survive a pint of beer and being used as a ball in a game of rounders lol

thanks to minty and yoshi ive now got the gps thingy to track my phone and friends location heheh no more hiding from the F.P.O anymore

at this minute i can track yoshi to mc donalds drive through ordering 15 big macs lol

still very nice indeed

Can you download GPS tracks to something like Memory Map, and upload routes to it? Can it handle waypoints?

i am sure i read somewhere that you can upload o/s maps to for laneing. :P

games are the applications Keith you have to load um onto the phone seems a bit messy tho! :?

My s1 has gone back battery only lasts 2 days hope the new one is better !

I had the maps but can you download them to the phone insteed of being on the net all the time?

LOL had the same problem Dave, except i contacted Sonim directly and they are sending me a new battery!

Its on the thread i started earlier about wishing all companies were like this! lol

Well have emailed the fella at Sonim.

He says if there is a problem ring them on 00800 5225 5227 (its through to america) as the retailers arent logging which parts are faulty and as such Sonim dont know there maybe a bigger problem with the battery!

But that number is good for all other faults as well.

If it could run Memory Map then I could see the point, otherwise I'm not sure it would be particularly useful to me.

Shop gave me a new battery but it seems the same 1/2 a day and down one bar already.

Is yours fine now with the battery sonim sent you?

Not received it yet, it was only yesterday that i contacted Sonim lol

Will let you know when it arrives. Although the fella said having gps and bluetooth switched on makes a hell of alot of difference.

There both off mate i thought it may have been that. The phone really is not that good but its so good to be able to go kayaking, sailing without the normal worry of a phone getting damp.
Not sure what to do at the min get a full replacement phone try that.

Yoshi please let me know how you get on with your battery if its that.

A mate had the same thing with a lg phone he got a new battery but it was the phone that was the problem not the battery. I'm on the second battery so may well be the phone.

I only charged mine when I got it .... and it's only used one bar - and that is in over a month :o

..and last night we proved that you can ring it in a pint of 1664 - bit quiet but it did make the beer bubble when it vibrated, then we threw it at a wall and Frank kicked it around a bit. Tough bit of kit!

My wife is taking it back today to get another one hope thats OK !!! Changing the hole phone as the speaker was crap as well "not very loud"
As you say hope its just a bad batch as getting a bit fed up with it now.

My wife has taken it back, this morning it run out off life and would not charge again. I had to ring orange for a fault code. She has now got the new phone so i will charge it when i get back from work and hope that the new one is fine.

Yoshi can you take note of the battery size volt/mah for me please see if there the same and of the new one you get. Thanks

I've got the sonim xp3 enduro a very basic phone[no camera of radio etc]phone but very good for calls and texting and much cheaper than the s1.Looks the same apart from it don't have landrover stamped on it.
They make one called xp3 quest which is the s1 again without saying lr on it and i would think its cheaper too

They had that one in the shop i had the sp1 one from but it does not have the camera and maybe some other bits on it. Looked just the same and was £50 cheaper.

Right the phone seems fine so far but they changed the Sim card so now it will not regester shop blame orange and orange blame the shop.
But it works fine with my other card in it :D

Orange say they have sorted the card and it should come on line in the next 24hours.

This phone seems fine though, as said must be a bad batch.

Had mine about a month now the only problem i had was when i left the gps on and it took my battery out from full charge within 1-2 days,switched off gps and the battery lasts for over a week :-k.
