90 2.5 petrol
« on: January 31, 2009, 17:55:14 »
I've got my eye on a 1984 2.5 petrol 90.

I really want to buy it but i'm not sure about these engines?

Has anyone got any idea what they are like to live with, i travel about 20 miles a day and will this engine pull ok with larger tyres (7.50 16's)

Any info will be handy cheers Mark

A 2 1/4 petrol will pull a series OK on 750's so assuming the engine is in good condition it should be OK, I guess you will use about a gallon of fuel a day........

They arent too bad.  I just removed mine for a 200tdi conversion but the petrol wasnt that bad.  Mines a 110, sat at 60mph on road quite happily, plenty of torque offroad.

Approx 20 to the galon in the 110 with nearly 100k on the clock.  Funnily enough I just stripped the 2.5 petrol engine today and im about to stick a load of bits on ebay!  If you need anything, you know where I am....  :D
