tray back or bobtail?

Hi all, I've got 3 disco's and one is destined to be modified so i'm going to chop one of them up in the new year and wanted to know which would be best, tray back or bob? If anyone has done either of these could you let me know the pro's and con's as i'm not sure which way to go,

i would bob it if i was u bobtailing is a lot easier and cheaper to do .

fairley simple to do
look good(dont look stuped)
still got somewhere to put your stuff
awsome off road
reasonable weight loss
easey to put a cage on

cons
can be a pain in the arse to do
spring rates
rear crossmember
making it look good
look stuped if there not off road prepped

bobtail van

pros
easey to do
after market parts still fit
you got a boot
you got 4/5 seats

cons
can look rediculous
if your not good with filler dont bother
still a large ammount of body work to hit off road
if body work is hit offroad then lots of time sorting it out


trayback

pros
awsome offroad
not much body work to distroy
easey to do.
massive weight loss
fit what ever tyres you want on

cons
alot of tubework can become very expencive
2 seats.
nowhere to put things
disco traybacks never look right.



all in all i would make a truck. there good offroad and if you dont like it there isnt much more work to do to make it into a trayback. i have a rear winch tray/bumper that can be used for your project if you want. i am not a fan of the fullcab/van ones i dont think they look right, dont get me wrong there are plenty of amazing ones i just thing they look funny.if you make a truck you will be happy with it. keep your eyes open in LRM there might be a nice one in there soon....

think it might allso be worth mentioning that its not really a cheap thing to do. i can be, but the cheaper ones do not look anywhere near as good. 15 quid of paint here a tenner on filler there £15 for some welding wire, it all adds up. scary really. however i think the advantages of them greatley out weigh the disadvantages. the 2 events ive had out of mine i had a constant smile on my face.....when i wasnt swaring at it for being a landrover :lol: and they will walk over defender trucks! :D
