have a word with the local council if there is/isnt a emergancy vehicle SUPPORT scheme in place, if not ask them why and do they have a procedure in place to support the services if needed if they havent........ leicestershire have one but its not directly involving blues and two's ( would be fun though), its if theres a flood so to speak its to support getting food, clothes, medicine, tranporting persons etc to vital areas where its needed where normal vehicles would struggle. in my opinion its very much worth it.

There is a team in Humberside & North Lincs, try this link:
http://www.4x4response.net/nationalforum/index.php?topic=364.0
and
http://www.humber-yorks4x4response.org.uk/

If they don't cover your area, have a look at the advice on the general site for how to go about it.

Well i had a go few months back with some others but were told no one was interested, however told to contact emgency officer a the local county council which i did but told "Not a policy to promote 4x4's" so was told to stuff it by him.

Noticed on the BBC wales news the other night what things should be raised at the WAG, first was a ban on plastic bags and the other the poor or lack of cordinaion between emercgency services, now for that to be raised by the general public is unusal.

Now living here i been invloved in a few incidents and amazed by the poor commucation between variuos services and the dreadfully response times by some of them. I'am not knocking indidiual ones but sometimes they just don't speak to each other

yes we do get snow blocking our road every year (told by the council we don't), made worse by lack of gritting, we get floods as well so i reckon might be a need, but as for interest very little

I tired as well and found a member on another forum, who told me you have to be a member, i think its one of those restricted forums where you have to be a member some do allow "lurking", access others don't.

talking of forums tried one which looked quite good, had to go though all kinds of checks membership etc. then found not a single post other than the chair of the club

Jon,
Have spoken to my bosses at work, whilst the police cannot help directly, We can register our group with the The Police and the County council and should we be needed they will contact us and direct us to where we are needed the most.

Not a bad start!

Oh you can count me in!

Once we have some structure and member details in place I'll contact my Bosses and furnish them with our details and how we can be of assistance.
We could also talk to the press, perhaps a positive side of 4x4 for a change!
