Rotten Battery Housing

Evening all,
On removing the battery from my 90 I have noticed that half the battery box has rotted away!
Is this common and are repair panels available? Or is it just a case of fabricating something up.

Bodged mine with a bit of steel riveted to the good metal. It's defiantly a bodge but stops the battery falling out.
