I don't think that's a standard rim for a Disco, Neal. I believe it's a Defender alloy - as fitted to the 'Tomb Raider', if I remember correctly ...

The 'ES' comes as standard with a darkened 'firestyle' as you suggest.

Having said all that, they do look good ...

it was supplied from new(98) with them fitted but it was imported from france, so may be a thing they do with them?

i,ve seen loads of the other type of two colour alloy but none like this and i,ve seen the boost type on disco,s but only single colour

They're known as 'Boost' & are an option on Td5 Defenders, the 'Tomb-Raiders', as stated had them.

No worries,

Was it the ES, or the GS that had the 2-tones?

Aren't Tomb-Raider Boost alloys 2-tone? (msut be available?, try Equi-Car?, the breakers)

Being pedantic, the other LR alloys you mention are actually called'FreeStyle'

If they are Land Rover rims, then when you are buying new a certain twisting of the dealers arm when you shake hands and a waving of the reddies can get any alloys fitted.

Will keep an eye out for you for another Disco, but don't hold your breath.

I know you've already seen this 50th with painted 'Boost' alloys fitted. I found another one today   , as seen below

I photographed it at the junction of Crabtree Lane & Long Lane.

I then drove Crabtree Lane, that's the one running south-west parallell to the railway cutting, I chickened out of the last 400(or so) yards, as it dipped substantially & the adjacent field was flooded. Not worth the risk.
Still................ on subsequent investigation, it exits directly onto the A1 - no verge, a narrow hard-shoulder &  no slip-road

Tomb Raider style wheels
« Reply #29 on: December 06, 2005, 08:31:14 »
Hi

The two tone tomb raider style wheels that you  have seen were standard fitment to the last model year of the Disco (300 TD1 series) on ES trim i.e. '98 model year.  There was a premium edition also available for that year with the same wheels but also a lightstone leather interior.

If you look in the for sale section, you'll see a set on a range Rover Classic, also attached here...
