Nowt wrong with a bit of industrial! 8) Hey, even Suzanne Vega's tried it!

Nowt wrong with The Cramps for that matter!

I missed the point of your origninal post re: Hayseed Dixie - they make I larf. Their Ace of Spades cover was good fun, but Pronghorn covered it first (and they're British!) and IMV is a better sound (they use squeeze boxes for a start).

cheers

The first I heard the Hayseeds was either on Jeremy Vine, or Johnnie Walker, I'm not over enamoured with with their 'metal' influences (Motorhead, etc...)

The Cramps! Now there's a name from the past!!!
I've got 5 LP's downstairs in my snug
'Songs The Lord Taught Us'
Psychedelic Jungle'
'Off The Bone'
'Smell Of Female'
'Date With Elvis'

Prefered Restless. Their guitar player (Mark Harman) was astoundingly good

And as for the other band with 'Dixie' in their name (the'Chicks')

In answer to your question Nelly, never heard of them until you mentioned them, and after listen to a couple of there tracks what a laugh.

If you can imaging Hayseed Dixie as a typical Barn Dance type band but playing covers of Queen Fat Bottom Girls, and Areosmith walk this way and many many others

What a giggle  :D

Just done a google search for said group and found this

Quote
An American group who started out as an Appalachian style tribute to AC/DC, playing traditional instruments such as fiddle, mandolin and banjo. Following the release of 2001's 'A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC' they have branched out, playing songs by other rock luminaries, as well as a few original compositions.

If I'm out laning with Muky-kid in his Rangie we just wind the windows down and listen to the V8 music :(contented):

Strewth! driving music (not that I do much of it) has to be a few bits of heavier stuff that I have (Motorhead, Alter Bridge, Sabbeth, Our Lady Peace and The Darkness) At home i listen to allsorts (Van Halen, large amounts of prog rock [E,L+P, Camel, Greenslade, King Crimson etc.] Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull and vairious folky bits like The Dubliners and The Pogues. There's loads of other stuff that i listen to, too much to mention though

the trouble is that you are all forgetting context of where and what you are driving.

In the series motor you couldn't go wrong with a bit of NIN, but it's hardly condusive to keeping below the speed limit.

Then again you can't go too wrong with a bit of 80's cheese or fleetwood mac for a jolly good scream along...

"Dance" music, pishaw, nobody's askin' and I ain't dancin' ;)
