Most members will know of this Surplus Dealer

However, as I was searching on'Multi-Map', for an easier route to Finningley (to pick SWMBO up tomorrow night. Yes she's in Paris again to see the architect) I had browse around the area.

It's years since I've been to Jacksons, they used to have a pair of Chieftains as 'gate guardians'.

I brought up the Multi-Map aerial photo & you can clearly see the former layout of the Rocket Site (as it's still called)
If you pull up the map as 1/25000 , you'll see the 'Rocket Site' name.

As an aside, I passed a
tribute to 83 Squadron based at Finningley on my way home.

Also Doncaster Air Museum have a Vulcan forward fuselage :D , might be worth a visit

Yes Doncaster is worth a couple of your hours Richard and easy to find.  You could leave SWMBO at the shopping centre on your way past :D

Well, building a new hospital from the ground-up takes a heck of a lot of forward planning. If something's wrong, you can't shut it down to fix it

Apparantly they all went out for dinner (for the usual French 3 hour as well)

Collecting her was a 'pain in the proverbial'.
Delayed by 3 hours going & about an hour on the return, so waiting in an air-port who's sole facilities at 23:00 were a 'Costa-Coffee'(?) & a SPAR!

The guilty party

Jacksons premises are located on the 'cold-war' ere site of a Bloodhound missile base

Scroll down here to just above the Swedish Bloodhound symbol & you'll see a referance to the Missiles at Jacksons site
