I am heading north up to the highlands for a holiday in a few weeks and I am wondering what sort of stuff I should be taking with me in the way of spares and stuff .

Yes I know that Scotland is not a third world country but there are bits that are .... well.... at tad out of the way ....and if I'm taking the family with me I'd like to think I can look after them.

I have the following ..

Jack
triangle
set of spanners
screw drivers
fire extinguisher
extra fuel
Water
oil's
first aid box

Can anyone suggest anything else.

Manicminer:
Spare wheel
Road atlas
Matches
Distress Flares

lee celtic:
Matches are in the first aid kit
spare is on the back
atlas sorted
Distress Flares  ??

as in fire into the air or the rip cord and throw on the road type I do have access to both

Budgie:
ANTI MIDGE CREAM/NETS!!!

Water proofs, snow shovel & sun cream - well you know what they say up here: "If you don't like the weather, just hang on 10 minutes!"

Seriously though, I would add a fuel filter to the list and maybe a proshaft U/J but that's about it. There are Land Rover places in Inverness, Perth, Killin, Stornoway, Aberdeen and few other places that I can't think of just now so your never that far away. Fuel should not be a problem although don't be supprised at the prices out in the sticks, we are paying 97.5p per litre for Derv on the island!!

Being sorted in other post

Inverness 100 miles from where I'm staying .
Aberdeen 200  miles from where I'm staying .
Perth 138  miles from where I'm staying .

Not good with a busted car this is why I'm asking the question still it's all part of the adventure  :D  :D

97p a litre

I'll make that a couple of extra jerry cans then
