I'd tipped off one of the chaps on 'T&T', as he's right into heavy haulage & he's awaiting an e-mail to tell him how much the Thorneycroft Antar is on offer at (on the 'More Classics' page)

I'll let you know

Just been on that forum & Neil's not received a reply yet about the Antar.
However, he has been offered a Scammell  Explorer (like this one) for tidying up at circa £2,900. Not too sure where from though.

I'm tempted to buy the taxi, so I could use the bus lanes on the way to work :)

One of my mates has 3 Atkinsons on the at the moment. Only one is fully restored, he's a bit 'put-out' as he missed another one by days.
Oh & that's not to mention the 2 Morris 1000 vans for restoration,  & a (allegedly) mint Maestro van he's acquired.

Where does he get the time (& money)??
I know he's got the space, skills, & contacts to do them all.
Eventually

He fancied an Antar, but his gates were just 6inches too narrow & he'd have to knock down one of his garages to widen them

Easily done with an Antar, wouldn't even slow it down.

Too true, but his Atkinson fits easily (as will a JCB Fast-Trac)
