Intercooler question (again)

Most people would agree that car manufactures will not give you anything for nothing if Toyota and Mitsubishi have fitted them they have because it will aide the engine performance but before someone jumps up and down saying its because of the position of the engine and that it was the only way around the lack of cooling for the intercooling it may be the case but it does point to the reason they fitted them in the first place to bring the intercooler up to standard. Fit one and try it when you are going off road I have fitted one plus a mr2 intercooler but I have also altered the turbo and fuelling and a mixture of the different mods did make a big difference to the drivability of the disco, but this information is easily available on the mud club. Give the fan a try when you are off roading but I would recommend the other mods they do make a difference especially the larger intercooler the mr2 one will safely run the standard mr2 car up to 300bhp before they need to change it far above the requirements of a 200/300 tdi and the inlet and outlet are on the same side. I paid £40 for mine but there are not many around. Hve a look at allard.

It is a Toyota MR 2 two seater sports car you know the one but the intercooler only comes off the turbo version. The man I bought it off fitted a charge cooler because he is trying to get it over 400 bhp  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock: it turns out it’s a popular modification for that type of car. I have seen them for sale on eBay before have a look. There easy to fit because the inlet and outlet are on the same side so you don’t have too many problems with the pipe work and they have a far greater flow rate and cooling rate than the standard intercooler.
