Dave:
Sorry to be serious for a minute but we had a lad at work having a bit of trouble with his car so he jacked it up to have a look it fell and crused his chest. He left a wife and 2 year old and one on the way.
Please guys be carefull we all do things under car and land rovers.
"BE SAFE"
Wanderer:
That's dreadful news Dave.
It's all too easy to think "Oh I'll be OK".
With many cars being so low to the ground there's no room for error. I learnt early when a scissor jack allowed a car to slide off while I was working under it. Luckily I managed to roll out but I'd never moved so fast in my life.

Only a few weeks ago I had the jeep up on stands to have all five tyres swapped over. Had no wheels on it at all. had a nice bit of 8x3 wood under the jack as it was on grass... Unfortunately it had been at the end of my mums garden for years and as I jacked the car up to put the wheels back on. I managed to find the rotten bit, jack sunk in one side and rolled sideways... I was outside the path fortunately, but it did go quick. Even had ramps under the car as a backup and it squashed them too. Took two trolly jacks, the bottle jack, various bricks, bits of wood etc to get her back up high enough to get the wheels on. And that was being careful....
Forgot the tip that I was given to always put the tyre under the car so that it cannot go all the way down.
Never nice to hear.
Jake:
Our thoughts too are with his wife and children
