235/85 x 16, £120 inc per corner from AJS 4x4. Not necessarily the best price, but they are 10 minutes from me so no hassle

Just got to sort out a spare now

Rears are done - look closely at this picture :D

Need to test it to check the leading edge on the rear arch and also test the front. I suspect I will need to sort out those front end caps

looks much much better Gords

a very wise choice as if you hadnt gone for 235s you would had wasted your money on the 'interim' sizes whilst you build your way up to them anyway.

Have you noticed the noise they make when cold on tarmac yet?

so, whats next on your wants list?

Found out this morning that the front offside wheel bearing is shot   It's in the garage as I type.

So, that's another 3 miles I've done

Next thing to do is check the clearance on full articulation ... anyone got a forklift?    OK, anyone got sensible suggestions on how to?

Just got to sort out a spare now

Novice question - can you run with a smaller spare ?

I am looking at getting some 235/85 soon but the cost of 4 new tyres as opposed to 5 would probably get past the wife a bit easier.  The current spare 230/70 is unused.  Can I keep this ?
Cheers.

Neil

No

Top Tip Of The Day : When buying 4 new 235/85 tyres, ask the fitters if they've got a 'just legal' scrap 750/16 you can buy off them for a tenner. Works a treat :-)

It is not to be recommended.   A different sized wheel on the axle will have an effect on the handling and braking of the vehicle, as well as putting some oddball stresses on the axle diff.

I tried, but they'd been cleared out a day or so beforehand
