But I'm not technically selling these items,and I did'nt want to come across as 'plugging' an item for someone else on ebay.

And with them being for a Range Rover I thought where else but the Range Rover thread  :?:

True enough... but since the vehicle forums are rarely pruned, if links to eBay items are posted, they become broken within a week or so, and that doesn't help anyone much.

It has also been used in the past by people as a technique to effectively advertise commercial products using the forum.

It's a tricky balance to maintain, but the general rule is that eBay listings should be in the For Sale, Links or Websites forums.
