Hard-Top Series 1
« on: May 30, 2005, 23:41:04 »
Spotted this beauty at the Nostell Priory Steam Fair on Sunday.
Nice, straight & with a (fairly) rare hard-top.
It's nice to see it on good old Firestone SAT's.
These were the tyre to have before the Americans started importing.
To say they were 7.50's, they look fairly small.

That'll be a great project Andy!, keep it posted

A friend of mine has a '56 Series 1  (86") in his workshop that he's owned for almost 25years! (he's the same age as me; 39)

It's complete & was a runner until about 12years ago, but then he put it into hibernation.
Now he plays with his Austin Gypsy & (3) Atkinsons.

He keeps saying he'll drag the old girl out & get her running again. I remember its first road run after he passed his driving test(when it had a V8 from a P5B under the bonnet :D  :D )
