PAS Swap

Reaper:
I have a 1972 R/R that I am about to bobtail, I also have a 1989 R/R that I am stripping for spares, Can I swap the pas box off the 89 into the 72, is it just a bolt in job or do I need to get a bit creative?
Yes I am being lazy asking rather than measuring it up myself!

The main thing to check is the number of bolts on the top cover of the box.

There are essentially 3 types...  3 bolt, 4 bolt and 6 bolt.

The majority of vehicles now have 4 bolt boxes on them.    These are not interchangeable with the 3 bolt type as they have different hose fittings.  I would guess your 72 has a 3 bolt, and the 89 has a 4 bolt.

The 6 bolt boxes should be OK to swap with the 4 bolt.

Thanks Tim,  I seem to have left out an important bit of info, the 72 rangie is manual steering at the mo  OOOPS!  and I want to convert it to PAS using the 89 box & pump etc?

Bobtail:
the whole kit should just bolt straight on
are the engines the same ie v8
so the pump bracket will fit as well :D

Reaper:
That was the answer I was hoping for and yes they are both v8's.
