Big Bro......

Gotta agree with Mr Daz on this one.  :-k  I personally wouldn't rationalise BB as a sociological 'petri-dish experiment' because for each experiment undertaken they change the ingredients for something increasingly volatile. They add catalysts to goad reactions. They contantly change the rules (or 'keep it fresh' in tellyspeak).

I think of it less as social cross-sectioning and more like fireworks.

The bigger the explosion, the bigger the audience. They're after ratings.

Now, I'm not saying there's owt wrong with BB, some of us just veiw the specatcle differently.

Each to their own, and all that!

cheers

Wanderer:
I'm inclined to agree with you both.
It's the social interaction and how people deal with the situations that have interested me.

This year they have taken the worst of the worst and stuck peope together that had virtually nothing in common with each other so that the only real thing they seem to have in common is their ethnicity and/or lack of it. Which has then moved it to two main "racial" (for want of a better word) groups.

BB also seems to be manipulating the rules to increase this tension by removing voting rights and making good guys and bad guys. It's all been done in the name of ratings and I hope it all backfires and their ratings take a dive when they've got nothing but decidedly bad apples left in there.

As stated earlier in the thread it is no where near a true cross section of the communities. Not even an inner city community.
