Recall on RaRo 1993 - 1996 with petrol engines

Dear Friends Hi from Greece,

a fellow member of the LR newsgroup who is based in the UK has just received this recall notice from LR for his Discovery but it is also effective for RaRos with petrol engines and built from 1993 up to 1996.

Is that the plastic tanks then?

Range Rover Blues Hi,

I do not know about the Range Rover but Discovery vehicles were fitted with plastic tanks since their introduction back in 1989.
Since the recall is effective for Discovery vehicles from 1993 up to 1998 and I know for sure that Discos before 1993 had a smaller tank this leads me to believe that Discovery vehicles were fitted with two different types of fuel tanks.
So this may leave a gap for Range Rovers also as to making a rule of thumb of plastic tanks being "bad" while metallic ones being OK.
Maybe RaRos were fitted with plastic tanks from 1989 up to 1993 and those are not included in the recall notice.
