Here here.  At least you have beautiful countryside and the sea.    You should try the midlands!

Tomorrow may be better.   :D

I send you a hug. :D

Working for your self is do-able - but you've got to be sure you're ready and willing to take on all the extra crap

Not that it will necessarily give you any extra free time - quite likely the opposite! I regularly work during the day, 2 - 3 hours in the evening and work weekends when I'm really busy!

The key thing is, I know I'm doing it all for my benefit   :D

Web development is something that you can generally do from anywhere - but you would need to "network" to get the work coming in. It's a tough one and something that takes a long time to build up.

Have you thought about contracting? Or maybe just look for a change of employer.

Hightower:
I used to contract in IT.  Great for the money, but if you didn't work you didn't get paid.  Then the IR35 stuff came in and stuffed me up at the same time my contract was ending.  Got a permie job at the same place - less money, but still very convenient for home.  Still a real grind every morning though :(
Trying to get a business off the ground in something completely different - http://www.allthingsessential.co.uk, but it may take some time . . .
If you want something enough, it will always happen . . . . .

Remember, the only point of working is to finance the good bits, but even the good bits need a little effort.
