Bored of the day to day dullness
defuzz:
So, I work 9-5 every weekday, at the weekends, despite having waited all week for the time off to get things done, I'm too knackered to do anything. :-(
I seriously can't imagine spending the next 40-50 years doing this, it will undoubtedly drive me insane.
I just wish i had the confidence and the balls to work for myself, I'm a web developer by trade but am the quiet geeky type, not well suited to selling myself, my skills or a my business.
Sometimes I just think I should pack it in and do something more interesting, work for myself, doing something completely away from computers. I love working on computers but these days I find having spent all day on them, the last thing I want to do is go home and use the recreationally.
I look at programmes like "property ladder" or gardening programmes etc and figure I could do that, my dad and I gutted a house and rebuilt it and have spent years doing the gardening. I know that doesn't make me a professional but i've known enough landscape gardeners and interiro designers to know anyone with the right skills can do it.
Anyone else bored by the daily grind, tempted to change your lives completely??
If only I could make money posting on internet forums.....

That's partly why we bought the 101 - hoping in a couple of years to take 6 months and travel somewhere interesting.
How about a total career change?
defuzz:
I'd love to do a bit of travelling, but I have lots of debt to pay off, 3 years of student loans and a graduate loan to pay for my post grad degree.
Changing careers would be nice but with my debt it has to be a pretty good wage which is hard if you're entering a new trade with little experience.

You live in the cornwall best bit of England beautiful beach's good surf and the best weather. Try living in the midlands when you love the sea. What you need to do is wright a good game program sell it and make a fortune. Then spent your time chasing the perfect wave, start with hawaii.

yes, I know, I'm a whining pansy, most beautiful place in England, but being stuck in a crappy office all day doesn't help me appreciate it
